Anyway, developer Play'n GO is stuck in another time travel conundrum; well, their protagonist Dr Tempus is, searching for her father through time. Dr Tempis has a time travel device, but frustratingly she can't control it. When she clicks the button, she could end up anywhere, from a land of dinosaurs to the roaring 1980s. Which scenario is more dangerous? Players get the chance to find out in Fortune Rewind where the background changes depending on which era Dr Tempis finds herself in. This could be the Wild West, the future, and so on. While some games display a count of ways above the reels, Fortune Rewind has a time clock, so you know not just where you are but when.
Dr Tempis' volatile time travel device has been lashed to a highly volatile math model, possibly producing a variety of RTP models. Checking the game docs will let you know the version you've got. The gaming part of the deal takes place on a 5-reel, 3-row panel, whith 20 fixed paylines for winning combos to link up on. Fortune Rewind was one heckuva a ride through the timeline. One of the benefits of Play'n GO's busy schedule is that it encourages the exploration of all sorts of wild ideas, and sometimes the studio strikes paydirt. Fortune Rewind is one such game which is a class act from start to finish. It begins with an enticing intro animation, setting the scene on the heroine's adventure through time to find her lost father. From there, players step into a revolving, warping landscape of changing eras, each one expertly designed. Play'n GO has paid exceptional attention to detail, and the details they've wedged into Fortune Rewind tend to be either amusing, thought-provoking, or just straight-up cool.
The gameplay's fun, too. The base game comes alive with the two side features, Wild Rewind and Fast Forward, making excellent use of the concepts of time travel while being entertaining to boot. Free Spins are equally well thought out as well. Dropping the non-HP symbols is a welcome move, and again, Play'n GO has entwined the theme of stepping from era to era with the gameplay. This is in part achieved by the multiplier, which can make a major increase when Wanted symbols create a winning line. Master the time travelling in Fortune Rewind and wins as high as 8,500x the bet is possible. We weren't lucky enough to find out, but maybe hitting the max win somehow sees Dr Tempis reunited with her pops?
As mentioned in the intro, time travel is a risky job where the wrong move could 'create a time paradox, the results of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space time continuum and destroy the entire universe.' At least, that's what Doc Brown said. Thankfully, Fortune Rewind doesn't get as dangerous as the doc's worst-case scenario, ending up a thrilling slot, skilfully planned and presented.
